GENERATIVE ART INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION 2005
in memory of Carlo Mariotti
G E N E R A T : I D E A
MORPHOGENESIS OF AN IDEA FOR A VISIONARY NATURAL WORLD
“FROM THE SPOON TO THE CITY”
International competition for artists and students in the fields of Art, Music, Mathematics, Poetry, Literature, Science, Architecture, Industrial Design, Engineering, Computer and Cognitive Sciences, Town and Environmental Design, Artificial Intelligence, Artificial Life, Robotics.
The aim of the competition is to demonstrate the conscious ability in solving problems for the life quality of human beings.

Three steps define a Morphogenesis Approach in Generative Design:
1) IDEA IN A CONTEXT
Idea rises in discovering a design occasion.
A first investigation in how to transform reality into a possible result.

2) IDEA AS A CODE
Idea defines formulas applied by a generative process.
This is like a code able to design possible traces of the relationships between the part and the whole, between existing and a visionary world.

3) POSSIBLE RESULTS
Code in an open system.
As in Nature open results are scenarios able to represent moments of a generative process toward complexity.
